Hercules and minotaur statue is a beautiful copy of Farneses Hercules that was produced during the Grand Tour era made of all tours-it stands on a custom-made rare white marble pedestal with a black vein.
Farneszehera is an enlarged version made in the early third century.

The father of Centaur’s race was a cloud made by Centaur, the child of Ixion who himself loved Hera, and the jealous Zeus to resemble a spatula more precisely. Centaur was believed to be living in the forest of Tessaria, beyond the laws of man.

The enlarged copy was made for the Roman Baths of Caracalla (dedicated to the year 216), where the Hercules statue for sale was restored in 1546 and is currently in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples. The rediscovered statue immediately entered the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, the grandson of Pope Paul III. Alessandro Farnese was a good place to form one of the finest collections of classical sculptures that have been collected since antiquity.
